Company Welcomes New SVP and CFO to Strengthen Executive Leadership Team
We are exited to announce that we are positioning for significant changes in the global aquaculture industry by bringing on top talent to lead our sustainable production efforts. We have successfully reeled in Roar Paulsen, a seasoned industry leader from Mowi, to spearhead its initiatives both in Norway and abroad.
We emphasized the urgency for fresh thinking in addressing key industry challenges such as fish welfare, lice management, and the prevention of fish escapes.
As we eagerly anticipate the introduction of new environmental technologies in Norway, we’re witnessing swift and extensive changes in markets beyond our borders. The demand for sustainable aquaculture is rising alongside the global need for fish. We’re committed to being part of the solution for sustainable food production, and Roar’s deep industry expertise makes him the perfect fit for our team.
Paulsen served as operational manager at Mowi Ireland and held leadership roles in both Ireland and Scotland before now joining Aquafarm.
He has expressed enthusiasm for his new role, stating:
“Much of my career has been dedicated to improving industry conditions by securing operations and accelerating innovation. I’m convinced that the future of aquaculture lies in better control of fish environments and water quality. Aquafarm has developed a sustainable and cost-effective solution in the field, and I’m excited to contribute to their ongoing efforts”
In another strategic move, we have appointed Benedikte Tveit as our new CFO. Tveit, formerly with Alde Akva, brings a strong track record in project management and business development.
The industry is capital intensive, and Benedikte’s expertise will be invaluable as we navigate the financial landscape.
Tveit echoed the sentiment, adding:
“When Aquafarm reached out, I didn’t hesitate. I have great confidence in the company’s vision and products to tackle the challenges facing the aquaculture industry, and I’m thrilled to be part of this journey”
As we prepare for future market changes, we hope that Norway will soon implement robust incentives for sustainable, closed production systems. Without such incentives, Norway risks losing its competitive edge.
However, with Paulsen and Tveit on board, We are confident that Aquafarm is ready to lead in both domestic and international markets.
